The Cornelia Marie remained part of Deadliest Catch after Captain Phil Harris’s era: Discovery named Josh Harris and Casey McManus as its captains in the 2020 and 2021 season announcements. Discovery’s season 22 listing later described Jake as reviving the vessel. That confirms its return in the show’s current-season storyline, but does not establish who legally owns it or whether it is fishing outside filming.
What happened to the Cornelia Marie after Captain Phil Harris?
The Cornelia Marie continued to appear in Deadliest Catch after Phil Harris’s era. Discovery’s season announcements associated Josh Harris and Casey McManus with the vessel as captains in both 2020 and 2021.

In its 2020 season description, Discovery said the pair had invested heavily in the operation and were planning the season with their crew. That is a description of the show’s season, not an independent record of the boat’s ownership.
Who is associated with the vessel in the show’s more recent listings?
Discovery’s official Deadliest Catch page lists season 22. Its first-episode synopsis, “Kings of the Frozen North,” says: “Captains find rare Red Kings in perilous seas. Jake revives the Cornelia.” This is the latest confirmed on-screen reference in the official material cited here. It establishes a season 22 storyline involving Jake and the Cornelia Marie; it does not identify Jake as the vessel’s owner or establish a permanent captain assignment.

What is confirmed—and what remains unknown?
- Confirmed in Discovery’s show material: Josh Harris and Casey McManus were identified as Cornelia Marie captains in the 2020 and 2021 season announcements.
- Confirmed in the season 22 listing: the episode-one synopsis says Jake revives the Cornelia.
- Not established by those pages: the vessel’s present legal owner, its full real-world fishing status, or whether it operates year-round outside filming.
Discovery’s pages describe the boat’s role in the program. They are not a marine registry, fishing-permit record, company filing, or owner interview, so the episode synopsis should not be treated as proof of ownership or ongoing commercial operations.
