Their forecasts were split on the main event, unanimous on three other title matches—and wrong about the tag-team title bout. Below are those contemporaneous opinions, kept separate from WWE’s official results.
Event and match card
WWE announced No Mercy for Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The event was an NXT Premium Live Event, with five championship matches and a Wes Lee–Zach Wentz grudge match on the announced card. WWE said at the time that the show would stream live in the United States exclusively on Peacock; that historical announcement does not establish where the event can be replayed today. Predictions and official results, match by match
The picks below were published by Cageside Seats on September 1, 2024, by Geno Mrosko, Marcus Benjamin, Claire Elizabeth, and Sean Rueter. They were panelists’ editorial forecasts, not official WWE predictions. WWE’s event results report records the outcomes and finishes.
NXT Championship: Ethan Page (c) vs. Joe Hendry, with Trick Williams as special guest referee
Panel picks: Mrosko and Benjamin chose Hendry; Rueter and Elizabeth chose Page. The split weighed the appeal of a Hendry win and the possibility of extending the title story around Trick against the view that Hendry’s chase was more valuable if Page retained.

Official result: Page retained. After referee interference and confusion, he hit Hendry with a low blow behind Williams’ back, then followed with Ego’s Edge. Pete Dunne attacked Williams after the match. The result matched two of the four panelists’ picks.
NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jaida Parker
Panel picks: Mrosko, Elizabeth, and Benjamin picked Parker; Rueter picked Perez, reasoning that the match could set up the next major challenger.
Official result: Perez retained, hitting Pop Rox on Parker at ringside and again in the ring. Giulia appeared after the match. One of four panelists picked the winner.

NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Tony D’Angelo
Panel picks: All four chose Femi, citing the developing feud and expectation that the reigning champion would keep the title.

NXT Women’s North American Championship: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Wendy Choo
Panel picks: All four chose Jordan to retain while the newer championship was being established.

Official result: Jordan retained with a split-legged moonsault. Tatum Paxley appeared after the match. The panel was unanimous and correct.
NXT Tag Team Championship: Chase U (Ridge Holland and Andre Chase) (c) vs. Nathan Frazer and Axiom
Panel picks: All four predicted Chase U would retain. Their reasons included the new champions getting a successful defense and the faction’s potential for continuing storylines.

Official result: Frazer and Axiom won the titles after combining Axiom’s Spanish Fly with Frazer’s Phoenix Splash. Holland attacked Chase U after the bell. This was the clearest consensus miss: none of the four panelists picked the new champions.

Wes Lee vs. Zach Wentz
Panel picks: Mrosko, Elizabeth, and Benjamin chose Lee. Rueter picked Wentz, weighing the recently reunited Rascalz/TNA connection and the possibility of continuing the feud.
Official result: Wentz defeated Lee with a Canadian Destroyer after Trey Miguel prevented Lee from using a chair. Three of the four panelists had picked Lee.

The panel correctly called Page’s retention and the wins by Femi and Jordan, but missed the two matches in which challengers or challengers’ teams won: Parker was favored by three panelists, and Chase U was the unanimous pick. Wentz also won despite three panelists choosing Lee. The tag-title change was especially notable because all four contributors expected the champions to retain.

Their split on the main event also shows how a forecast can turn on competing readings of the same story: a possible title win for Hendry versus the value of continuing his pursuit.
