After Sister Wives Season 19, Robyn Brown’s next documented storyline was in Season 20: TLC described her as still believing in plural marriage while Kody Brown questioned its future. The show’s episode guide later listed the couple discussing their new monogamy and Kody apologizing to Robyn. TLC’s September 2026 Season 21 announcement, however, named Christine, Janelle, and Meri as the season’s focus—not Robyn and Kody—and did not say why they were absent.
What happened to Robyn in Season 20?
TLC’s Season 20 preview described a marriage facing a different reality after the family’s fractures. Robyn was portrayed as holding on to plural marriage while Kody questioned whether he still wanted it. The preview also said he entertained attention from a woman online who asked to become his new wife. That was part of TLC’s description of the storyline; it does not establish that another wife joined the family. TLC’s Season 20 announcement was published August 21, 2025.
The official episode guide adds several developments involving Robyn and Kody:
- The Season 20 premiere summary says the couple discuss their “newfound monogamy.”
- A later episode summary lists a dance lesson for the couple.
- Another summary describes Kody apologizing to his former wives, followed by an apology to Robyn in which he asks her forgiveness.
- The One-on-One summaries revisit the Coyote Pass meeting and say Kody defended Robyn against claims that she was being used as a scapegoat.
These are TLC’s episode descriptions, not a complete account of every conversation or event shown on screen.

Why aren’t Robyn and Kody in the Season 21 announcement?
In its September 14, 2026 announcement, TLC said Sister Wives Season 21 would focus only on Christine, Janelle, and Meri for the first time in 16 years. The announcement describes the three women coming together to finalize departures from their former lives while following their individual lives and relationships. It does not explain why Robyn and Kody are not part of the announced focus, and it does not say they have permanently left the series. TLC’s Season 21 announcement includes the new-season framing and trailer.
Janelle says in the trailer, “There has been a lot that has happened.” That line signals change in the family’s story, but it is not an explanation from TLC about Robyn and Kody’s absence.

Are Robyn and Kody still together?
A report published October 4, 2026 says Robyn and Kody were still married during the Season 20 filming period, which it places at the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025. That is historical context, not confirmation of their relationship on October 8, 2026. The report also says they had not shared recent public updates; no new direct statement from Robyn establishing her current relationship status is cited there.
