Victoria Justice said filming an intimate scene for Depravity left her anxious and uncomfortable, especially because it was scheduled for her first day on set. In a 2024 interview, she described how director Paul Tamasy offered to show her the scene in advance and change it if she objected. Justice described it as her first-ever sex scene in that interview, but a 2015 account had already identified an Eye Candy scene as her first; the discrepancy remains unresolved.
What Victoria Justice said about filming the scene
Justice discussed the Depravity scene during a May 2024 appearance on SiriusXM Hits 1 with Tony Fly and Symon. She said she was “very, very nervous” and “totally anxious about the entire situation,” and recalled wondering whether she had made the wrong choice.

She also pushed back on the idea that filming an intimate scene is inherently sexy: “It’s really not. It’s uncomfortable, honestly.” Justice said crew members were watching in the room. Her remarks describe her experience on this scene, not a universal account of how intimate scenes are filmed.
Why the first day on set made it harder
The scene was scheduled for Justice’s first day working on Depravity, when she did not yet know her scene partner well. She said that timing added to her nerves. Her partner was not named in the contemporaneous reports, so it is not possible to identify them from those accounts.

How the director and scene partner helped
Justice said director Paul Tamasy offered to show her the scene beforehand and told her it could be changed if she did not like it. She said, “He made me feel very comfortable about it.”
She also described her scene partner as polite and respectful, saying they helped her feel safe. Justice said the scene went well and was tasteful. The reports reviewed do not establish whether an intimacy coordinator was present.

Was it really her first sex scene?
Justice described the Depravity scene as her first-ever sex scene in the 2024 interview. However, an earlier account creates a chronology conflict: a 2015 Enstarz report on a Cosmopolitan Q&A says Justice had described an Eye Candy scene with Daniel Lissing as her first sex scene. In that account, she also said she felt nervous, that Lissing made her comfortable, and that the set was closed.
The discrepancy is not explained in the sources. The Cosmopolitan page currently displays a May 13, 2004 date, but Enstarz’s contemporaneous coverage dates the interview to May 13, 2015; the page’s displayed date is inconsistent with its reference to Eye Candy and Justice as a 22-year-old. It is therefore more precise to say that Justice called the Depravity scene her first in 2024, while noting that the 2015 account called an Eye Candy scene her first.
