Em CARRANCA, Urias buscou sair das fórmulas que já conhecia e encontrar novas maneiras de expressar o que pensa e sente. Em entrevista ao POPline publicada em 10 de outubro de 2025, a cantora descreveu o disco como uma descoberta pessoal e disse que queria criar “um som que ainda não existia dentro do pop brasileiro”. É a intenção artística que orienta o álbum, não uma afirmação comprovada de ineditismo absoluto.
O que Urias quis fazer com CARRANCA
Urias apresenta o álbum como uma mudança de direção, tanto sonora quanto temática. “Eu não queria me repetir. Quis descobrir novas formas de dizer o que eu penso e sinto; e criar um som que ainda não existia dentro do pop brasileiro”, disse à reportagem. Ela também relaciona essa busca a uma conexão espiritual mais forte consigo mesma e com as próprias raízes: o disco, afirma, trata de assuntos que ainda está aprendendo a compreender.
A entrevista contrasta esse foco com o de Her Mind (2022): naquele álbum, segundo a matéria, o centro era a pista; em CARRANCA, são o Brasil, suas tradições e contradições. A jornada não é linear: passado, presente e futuro coexistem. Urias associa essa ideia de tempo circular a religiões de matriz africana, sem que isso deva ser tomado como uma descrição de todas as tradições ou religiões.
Por que o álbum se chama CARRANCA?
A carranca é a imagem que organiza o conceito do disco. A entrevista a descreve como uma escultura colocada em embarcações para proteção e para afastar maus espíritos. Para Urias, ela também carrega apelo popular e pode funcionar como espelho do país.

Na leitura da cantora, o mar evoca libertação e lembrança, enquanto as embarcações se ligam à ancestralidade e à travessia. Essas associações explicam o papel simbólico da imagem no álbum; a entrevista não pretende ser um levantamento histórico abrangente sobre carrancas.

Como o som combina estilos e referências
A reportagem descreve uma mistura de rap, R&B, jazz, música eletrônica e groove, atravessada por referências afro-brasileiras. Em vez de reduzir o álbum a um único gênero, as faixas citadas mostram abordagens diferentes dentro desse conjunto.
- “Etiópia” parte da intenção de fazer uma música de amor, conforto e dança, com groove, nostalgia e atmosfera oitentista. A matéria também a associa a reencontro e pertencimento.

- “Voz do Brasil” usa, de acordo com a entrevista, um sample da abertura do programa de rádio. Urias explica a escolha como uma retomada simbólica de poder e associa a voz do Brasil ao movimento popular.

Como os interlúdios conduzem a narrativa
A voz de Marcinha do Corintho aparece nos interlúdios, que dão forma ao percurso narrativo do álbum. Urias disse que a conversa do disco começou por eles e os chamou de “a bússola que guia tudo o que vem depois”. Assim, eles não são apresentados apenas como pausas entre músicas: funcionam como orientação para a história que as faixas desenvolvem.
