What does the estimate tell us—and what does it leave out?
The US$55 million figure is not an audited balance sheet or a disclosed total of Cool’s assets. The source does not explain its calculation or establish which assets, debts, ownership interests, or personal income were included. It is therefore best understood as a reported estimate, not a verified statement of his actual wealth.

InfoMoney says Cool’s wealth largely comes from Green Day and music-industry projects, but it does not document the contribution from any particular source. It gives no basis for assigning him a salary, royalty percentage, tour earnings, catalog ownership, or specific assets. InfoMoney
Why Green Day’s sales are not Tré Cool’s net worth
InfoMoney also reports that Green Day has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide, attributing that discography figure to Wikipedia. This is a band-level sales claim, not a measure of Cool’s personal income or net worth. Album sales do not show what an individual member received after contractual arrangements, costs, taxes, or other financial factors; the cited reporting does not establish those details.

How to read online celebrity net-worth figures
When comparing estimates, check who published the number, when it was dated, and whether it is a direct disclosure or a third-party calculation. Also look for an explanation of the assets, debts, ownership, and income assumptions behind it. For Cool, the available figure is attributed to an estimate site through a secondary news report, without a documented calculation or direct financial confirmation.
