Robert Irwin described dating under public attention as “so challenging to navigate,” saying that “anything you do will be on TikTok the next day.” The remark was attributed to a New York Times interview and reported by E! News on November 25, 2025. It reflects Irwin’s account of the pressure—not confirmation that he was dating anyone.
What Robert Irwin said about dating in public
In the interview, Irwin reacted to the difficulty of dating as a public figure with: “Holy moly, that’s so challenging to navigate.” E! News reported that he explained the challenge this way: “anything you do will be on TikTok the next day.” E! News, November 25, 2025, attributed the comments to a New York Times interview published November 23. Us Weekly later repeated the dating remark. Us Weekly, January 19, 2026.
Irwin also said he does not shift into a different version of himself for public life: “I never change what I say, what I do, who I am one bit, wherever I am.” He added that he had “no persona to hide behind,” as reported by E! News. His comments describe how he sees the boundary between his public and private selves; they do not establish what his private dating life was at the time.
Why the remark drew attention during Dancing with the Stars
The comments appeared during the 2025 season of Dancing with the Stars, when Irwin’s visibility—and public interest in his personal life—increased. In that setting, a casual interaction can attract online attention and speculation. Irwin’s TikTok remark conveys his concern about that scrutiny, but it is not a measured claim about how often public figures’ actions become social-media content.
