Record Store Day 2025 took place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, so this is now a guide to that event’s announced releases—not a preview of an upcoming drop. TechRadar highlighted five albums from a catalog it described as containing more than 300 records across formats including 7-inch, LP, and CD. The five are editorial picks, not an objective ranking, and none should be assumed to be in stock today.
When was Record Store Day 2025?
The event was held on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Record Store Day centers on independent record shops; Record Store Day UK reported 312 participating shops across the UK and Ireland, a regional figure rather than a global total. The UK announcement quoted musician Noel Gallagher: “Record shops were really important when I was growing up.” Record Store Day UK
What was on the Record Store Day 2025 release list?
TechRadar’s 2025 guide described more than 300 records across formats such as 7-inch, LP, and CD, and included an alphabetical list with title, artist, label, and format. That is the guide’s count and scope, not a single universal list for every market. The official Record Store Day special-releases page includes catalog fields such as date, format, label, quantity, and release type; regional announcements can differ, so check the relevant market’s listing for a specific title. Five albums TechRadar picked for Record Store Day 2025
These selections offer different reasons to seek out a release: a remastered picture disc, radio archives, a live recording, a remastered anniversary edition, and a curated set of session material. The descriptions below reflect TechRadar’s article; they are not claims of independent listening tests or sound-quality rankings.
The Cure — The Head on the Door
The featured RSD 2025 edition is a picture disc remastered by Robert Smith. TechRadar points to the album’s combination of pop songs and darker character. Make sure a listing is for the 2025 picture disc if that edition is what you want; other editions of the album are not the same release.

How to check a release and find it now
- Identify the exact edition. Compare the artist, title, format, label, quantity, and release type in the relevant regional listing. A familiar album title alone does not establish that a listing is the RSD 2025 pressing.
- Check the market. UK and Ireland releases and other regional catalogs may not match. Use the local Record Store Day or label announcement for the territory relevant to the listing.
- Ask an independent shop or check current seller listings. Record Store Day UK provides a shop locator. Because the event has passed, confirm current stock, edition details, and price directly; the 2025 announcements do not establish present availability or resale value.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
