Mike Tyson’s representatives said his company, Tyrannic, LLC, was entitled to end a promotional licensing agreement because they alleged Medier Ltd. had materially breached it. That response addressed Medier’s lawsuit over a deal linked to the Rabona betting brand. The often-quoted $1.6 million is a rounded description of Medier’s claimed losses—not a court award or an established debt.
What did Tyson’s representatives say?
In a statement reported by SPORTbible on December 7, 2024, Tyson’s legal representatives, speaking for Tyrannic, LLC, said Medier had breached the agreement and that the company had grounds to terminate it:
“It is the company’s position that Medier, Ltd. materially breached the terms of its license agreement on multiple occasions and in various ways. As such, Tyrannic, LLC was well within its legal and contractual rights to terminate the license agreement for material breach in an effort to mitigate additional reputational harm to the Tyson brand.”
This was Tyrannic’s position, not a statement shown to have been made personally by Tyson. It is also an allegation in the dispute, not proof that Medier breached the agreement or that a court accepted Tyrannic’s account. SPORTbible reported the statement; ESPN also described the competing accounts in its December 6, 2024 report.

What is Medier’s lawsuit about?
Medier Ltd., a Cyprus-registered company promoting the Rabona online casino and betting brand, sued Tyson and Tyrannic in London’s High Court. Reuters reported that the claim was filed in October 2024 and concerned a promotional licensing agreement that Medier said was agreed in January and terminated in March 2024. The reported termination date was the same day Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul was announced.
Medier alleged that Tyson and Tyrannic ended the agreement to pursue the Netflix-backed fight, and claimed the termination caused about €1.46 million in losses. Medier’s lawyer characterized the termination as unlawful in court documents, according to Reuters and ESPN. These are the claimant’s allegations; the cited reporting does not establish a finding of breach or liability. Reuters’ report, republished by Investing.com, set out the filing and claim.

What does the $1.6 million figure mean?
Reuters described the claim as nearly €1.5 million, equivalent to $1.59 million, and separately reported Medier’s claimed losses as about €1.46 million. The $1.6 million figure is a rounded headline amount. It describes what Medier sought, not money Tyson was ordered to pay.

Reuters reported in December 2024 that Tyson and Tyrannic had not yet filed a defence at that point. That dated report does not establish the case’s current procedural status or outcome. A 2026 LegalClarity page reported no further developments, but it is a secondary source, not a primary court record confirming the current status. The available reporting therefore does not establish whether the dispute remains active, was resolved, or resulted in a court decision.
