There is no official category of “forgotten” WWE Women’s Champions, and this is not a complete roll call. It is a look at several champions from the retired Women’s Championship lineage: Alundra Blayze, Fabulous Moolah, Trish Stratus, Molly Holly and, as a contrasting example, Stephanie McMahon. Their documented stories range from a wrestling controversy and a long-ago death to Hall of Fame recognition, later returns and careers beyond the ring.
Which WWE Women’s Championship does this cover?
WWE’s title-history page traces the Women’s Championship through multiple eras and holders. The championship was unified with the Divas Championship in September 2010 and retired. The women’s titles that followed—including Raw, SmackDown, NXT and today’s world championships—belong to later lineages, so they should not be conflated with the retired title discussed here. WWE’s official title history is the reference for its reign chronology.
The examples below are selected profiles, not a ranking of who is most overlooked. “Forgotten” is an editorial hook, not a judgment that WWE or fans have literally forgotten these wrestlers.
Alundra Blayze: the champion in the trash-can moment
Three WWE reigns, then a famous WCW segment
Debrah Miceli arrived in WWE as Alundra Blayze in 1993 and won the Women’s Championship three times during her WWE run. WWE’s title-history page records the reign dates and lengths; the separate, much-discussed trash-can incident happened later, in December 1995, when she appeared on WCW Monday Nitro carrying the WWE Women’s Championship and put it in a trash can. The segment should not be confused with the dates or official record of her WWE reigns.

Her account of why she did it
In a WWE.com interview, Miceli explained the decision this way: “Well, I was under contract and [former WCW President] Eric Bischoff told me to do it. It was either that or I was out the door.” That account adds context to a moment often remembered primarily for its shock value. WWE’s retrospective on her career recounts the incident and her explanation. Read WWE’s Alundra Blayze retrospective and interview.
Fabulous Moolah: a historical profile, not a current whereabouts story
Born Lillian Ellison, Fabulous Moolah won the Women’s Championship in 1956, according to WWE’s profile, and held it until Wendi Richter defeated her in 1984. WWE’s account calls this the longest reign in wrestling history; that description is WWE’s characterization and should be understood in the context of changing title lineages and recognition conventions, not treated as an unqualified cross-promotion record.

Moolah died on November 2, 2007, at age 84, as WWE’s profile records. That makes her a subject of wrestling history rather than a living former champion whose present-day activities can be reported. WWE’s Fabulous Moolah profile provides its historical account.
Trish Stratus: retirement, Hall of Fame, and later returns
Trish Stratus announced her in-ring retirement in 2006 and entered the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. Retirement did not mean a permanent absence from WWE: she returned for later appearances and matches. WWE’s profile recounts her 2023 return in a storyline involving Becky Lynch and Lita, followed by a steel-cage match with Lynch. The useful distinction is that Stratus announced retirement, then later resumed WWE activity for particular appearances and programs; neither fact erases the other. WWE’s Trish Stratus profile covers her career and returns.

Molly Holly: a documented champion, with current work not established here
WWE’s title history records Molly Holly’s Women’s Championship reign from July 2003 to February 2004. WWE also identifies her as a 2021 Hall of Fame inductee. Those records establish her championship and recognition, but they do not establish her current occupation or public activities. It would be misleading to fill that gap with an assumed present-day role. WWE’s Molly Holly profile and the official title history document the supported details.
Stephanie McMahon: a contrast to the “forgotten” label
Stephanie McMahon is not an obscure champion, so she serves here as a contrast: a former Women’s Champion whose documented career extended into executive and media work. WWE’s profile recounts her title reign and executive positions, as well as later projects including ESPN+’s Stephanie’s Places and the What’s Your Story? podcast. The profile identifies her as a 2026 Hall of Fame inductee. WWE’s Stephanie McMahon profile describes those parts of her career.

What these profiles can—and cannot—tell us
These examples show why “where are they now?” needs care: one subject died years ago, one is best known in part for a dramatic career moment, another returned after announcing retirement, and the available official records for Molly Holly establish honors rather than a present job. WWE’s official title history supplies the lineage and reign chronology, while its profiles and features offer selected career details. They do not establish the current whereabouts or complete status of every former champion.
