Which movie are the new miniatures based on?
The confirmed tie-in is The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. Games Workshop presented the Battle of Edoras Starter Set as a new boxed release for its Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, with miniatures inspired by the film.
The phrase “the new movie” can also refer to The Hunt for Gollum, but the two announcements should not be conflated. Middle-earth Enterprises confirmed that film project in 2024, naming Andy Serkis as director and star and giving a 2026 theatrical release plan at that time. That film announcement does not establish a Games Workshop product tie-in.
What is in the Battle of Edoras starter set?
Games Workshop describes Battle of Edoras as a boxed set for the updated edition of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. It includes miniatures and rules for the scenarios in the box. Games Workshop’s overview of the range update describes updated rules and a refreshed range for the game. Those are the company’s stated changes; the announcement does not provide independent comparisons of how the revised rules play.
Are there other new War of the Rohirrim miniatures?
Yes. In a separate announcement, Games Workshop introduced two new miniatures celebrating The War of the Rohirrim: King Helm and another figure. The same announcement introduced the first Middle-earth Journal, which includes an 11-battle campaign, scenarios, terrain-building guidance, and painting guides. Details are in the company’s King Helm and journal announcement.

Does Games Workshop have Hunt for Gollum miniatures?
No specific Hunt for Gollum miniature release is confirmed by the material available here. A targeted search of Warhammer Community’s official site returned no such announcement. That search result is limited evidence, not proof that Games Workshop will never announce related models.
