Seal sings a Baja Blast-themed parody of his song “Kiss from a Rose” while appearing as a literal seal, with Becky G and Mountain Dew’s Mountain Dude also in the spot.
What happens in the “Kiss from a Lime” ad?
The commercial starts with Becky G drinking Baja Blast, then shifts to a fantastical Baja Beach. There, she encounters Seal as a singing seal and Mountain Dew’s Mountain Dude. The joke plays on the singer’s name: Seal is both the performer and the animal character. The ad’s final punchline returns to Seal in human form.
In the song parody, Seal sings about the seal’s trouble opening a bottle with flippers. The spot features Mountain Dew Baja Blast and Baja Blast Zero Sugar, according to iSpot’s ad catalog entry, published February 5, 2025.
Why does Seal sing “Kiss from a Lime”?
The parody adapts Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose” to make Baja Blast’s tropical-lime flavor the center of the joke. The One Club campaign case says Seal wrote and performed the parody as a way to turn the flavor into an entertaining, sensory idea.

Seal also said he could not resist the proposal: “When Mountain Dew reached out with the idea of creating a parody of ‘Kiss from a Rose’ for their Super Bowl commercial, I just couldn’t resist,” he told MediaPost in a report published February 7, 2025.
How did the campaign connect nostalgia with Gen Z?
The spot draws on recognition of Seal’s familiar song while putting it in a deliberately absurd, flavor-focused setting. Marketing Brew reported that PepsiCo executive Mark Kirkham described the strategy as balancing nostalgia with appeal to Gen Z.
