How the challenges work
The friends’ sack race
The episode begins with teams made up of three friends competing in a potato-sack race. The winning trio earns immunity. The other teams face the episode’s main decision challenge.
The five-hour choice in the red cubes
Each remaining trio is placed in a red cubicle with a phone and handcuffs. The team has five hours to choose one member to leave. They may use the phone to request an object that could help them make the decision, but no specific object or game is established as the official way to decide.
#1 Best Overall
The selected contestant handcuffs themself to formalize the elimination. If a trio fails to choose anyone before the deadline, all three members are eliminated. The stakes therefore extend beyond choosing who leaves: delay or refusal puts the whole team at risk.
Why the red-cube challenge is so difficult
The format turns a private friendship into a group decision with a fixed deadline and a severe consequence. Each trio must weigh the cost of naming one person against the possibility that nobody acts and everyone goes home. The option to request an object gives the teams a possible aid, but it does not remove the responsibility for the decision.
Contestants Ava (#559) and Ivy (#781) later described the challenge as the most brutal one they experienced. Their retrospective discussion includes the sack-race reward, the request-anything challenge, and the elimination games; it offers contestant perspective rather than a complete transcript of the episode.
The Beast Island ticket and ending
After the cube challenge, a gold box offers a ticket to Beast Island. A second ticket is hidden somewhere in Beast City. The episode ends as contestants start looking for it, leaving the outcome of that search to Episode 4.

Those chapter headings identify topics, not verbatim statements or a full account of every event.
