Heidi Stephens, Mrs. Washington, was named the new Mrs. American on August 27, 2024, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Outgoing titleholder Hannah Neeleman—known online as Ballerina Farm—handed Stephens the crown at the ceremony.
Who won Mrs. American?
Stephens, representing Washington, was announced as the winner. Neeleman returned as the outgoing Mrs. American to pass the crown to her successor; she was not the newly crowned winner. Faithit and a People story syndicated by Yahoo reported the same winner, date and venue. Faithit’s August 28, 2024 report was directly reviewed. The Yahoo-syndicated story was corroborated by its search-result excerpt; Yahoo’s page returned a rate-limit error when accessed.

Faithit reported that Neeleman’s remarks were prerecorded and quoted her reflecting on her year as titleholder: “As Mrs. American, I am filled with gratitude and joy to have been a part of this journey. What a year it has been.”

The same report also reproduced a separate remark attributed to a New York Times interview about competing in Mrs. World shortly after giving birth: “A lot of us have kids, and I don’t think there’s any shame in showing I just had a baby.” This is a secondary reproduction of that interview, not a statement documented at the Mrs. American handoff.
