A January 2025 follow-up said he had completed an 18-month inpatient stay and continued treatment at another center. Those reports do not establish where he is receiving care or how he is doing today.
What has been reported about Jake Lloyd’s rehabilitation?
In a March 2024 interview with Scripps News, Lloyd’s mother, Lisa Lloyd, described serious mental-health struggles and said a crisis in 2023 led to hospital care and then inpatient rehabilitation. She reported that he was doing better and becoming more socially engaged during treatment. These details are her account as reported by Scripps News, not a public review of medical records.
In January 2025, coverage of journalist Clayton Sandell’s interview reported that Lloyd had completed an 18-month inpatient stay and was continuing treatment at another rehabilitation center. The update appeared in The Independent and in Sandell’s account. It describes his treatment at that time, not his present location or condition.
What is known about his status now?
The reports cited here do not establish Lloyd’s current health or treatment status as of October 8, 2026. A later secondary report reportedly summarized a social-media update, but the original post and its date have not been verified here. It would therefore be misleading to state that he is currently in a particular facility, has recovered, or is no longer receiving care.

Who is Jake Lloyd?
Lloyd portrayed young Anakin Skywalker in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. That career fact provides context for the public interest in his story, but the available accounts do not establish that the film, childhood fame, or fans caused his mental-health struggles. Nor should a diagnosis or treatment history be treated as a complete explanation of his life or career.
