That opening figure comes from The Film Enthusiast, while the “biggest financial failure” label is that outlet’s characterization—not a verified industry ranking. Nobody 2’s better-documented North American opening was $9.25 million.
How much did Nobody 2 make opening weekend?
Nobody 2 earned $9,251,190 in its North American opening weekend, according to The Numbers. The Associated Press reported that it placed third for August 15–17, 2025, with about $9.25 million across 3,260 North American theaters, behind Weapons and Freakier Friday.
That is a domestic three-day opening figure, not the film’s worldwide debut. The Film Enthusiast reported a $14 million worldwide opening on August 17, 2025. That estimate is the figure apparently behind the headline’s comparison; it should be treated as that outlet’s report, rather than as a primary-tracker total.
What does the comparison with The Covenant actually mean?
The comparison pairs two different measures: Nobody 2’s reported worldwide opening weekend and The Covenant’s reported worldwide gross over its full theatrical run. An opening-weekend result is an early slice of a film’s box-office run; a lifetime gross is the accumulated amount across its theatrical release. Saying the former nearly matched the latter is not the same as saying the films had similar final grosses.

The Film Enthusiast called The Covenant Guy Ritchie’s “biggest financial failure,” but the available figures do not establish that superlative or support an exact, like-for-like gross comparison. The comparison is best understood as the outlet’s framing, not a verified ranking of Ritchie’s films by financial performance.

The Numbers lists the sequel’s production budget as $25 million. A production budget is not a break-even figure, and theatrical gross is not the same as studio revenue or net profit. These figures therefore do not establish whether the film was profitable.

The Numbers lists Nobody 2 as a 2025 R-rated action thriller with an 89-minute runtime, released domestically by Universal. It lists the home-video release date as September 2, 2025. After the opening, Universal’s domestic distribution president Jim Orr told the Associated Press he hoped the film’s 89% Audience score and B+ CinemaScore pointed “to a long and successful run at the domestic box office.”
