Prime Video canceled the series after three seasons in May 2025, but star Rosamund Pike said she hopes another studio might revive it—while also acknowledging that fans may need to accept the show is over.
What Rosamund Pike said about a possible revival
In an interview with Collider reported by TheWrap on November 12, 2025, Pike expressed hope that another studio might continue the adaptation. “In my dreams, another studio would be wise and pick it up,” she said. She added that the team could make “a great final sequence of seasons” and that they now knew what to do with Robert Jordan’s books. But she ended on a more cautious note: “But I think we have to accept that it’s over.” TheWrap’s report
Those comments describe Pike’s hopes, not a pickup announcement. TheWrap reported that she was speaking with Collider; its published account is the source for the quotations here.
Why Pike thought the show improved
Season 1 faced production disruption
Pike said she agreed with fans who felt the first season was not good enough, citing COVID disruptions during filming and changes among department heads. That is her assessment of the production and season, not a claim about every viewer’s response.

She praised the later seasons
Pike said the team had found its footing by Season 2 and described Season 3 as a more cohesive, fully realized series with strong writing and performances. TheWrap reported that the adaptation covered four of the fifteen books by that point. TheWrap’s report on the book adaptation
Why there is no Season 4 at Prime Video
TheWrap reported on May 23, 2025 that Prime Video would not bring The Wheel of Time back for a fourth season, ending the series after three seasons. Its report cited falling Season 3 viewership and the show’s reported expense as factors believed to have contributed; it did not establish an official company explanation. A later status report offered no sign of a reversal. On August 27, 2026, Radio Times quoted Nicole Clemens, Prime Video’s head of UK and International originals, saying, “I don’t think there’s a new Wheel of Time in the pipeline at the moment but we are open to big fantasy.” The report said the new franchise projects it discussed would not continue the live-action series. That describes the situation at the time of the interview; it does not rule out a revival indefinitely. Radio Times’ August 2026 report

Read the novels for more of the story
Robert Jordan’s novels—and the later books completed by Brandon Sanderson—are the source material for the series. They offer a way to explore the wider story, but the existence of unadapted books is not evidence that a fourth television season is planned. TheWrap’s report on the book adaptation
