Emily Balch’s quad bike flipped during a snowy Season 17 outing on Married at First Sight. Brennan Shoykhet and the camera crew hurried back to her; crew members called emergency services, and Brennan held a compress against her head while they waited for paramedics. A later episode recap reported that Emily had a large forehead-and-scalp wound, no concussion, and needed stitches.
What happened in Emily’s quad bike accident?
In an exclusive preview published February 7, 2024, Entertainment Tonight reported that Emily and Brennan were riding quad bikes along dirt paths in snowy hills when Emily’s bike flipped. The report does not establish exactly why it happened.
Brennan and the crew returned to Emily. The crew called emergency services, while Brennan pressed a compress against her wound and held her hand as they waited for paramedics. In the preview, Emily asks, “Am I going to be OK?” Brennan replies, “You’re gonna to be alright,” as printed in the report.
What injury did Emily have?
A February 15 episode recap by Reality TV World described a large open wound extending from Emily’s forehead into her scalp. The recap said she did not have a concussion, received about 15 stitches, and returned to the retreat. Those are details reported in the episode recap, not independently reviewed medical records.

What happened to Emily and Brennan afterward?
The accident showed Brennan supporting Emily in the immediate aftermath, but it did not mean their relationship was repaired. Reunion coverage published April 10, 2024, by Us Weekly reported that Emily and Brennan chose divorce on Decision Day.
