Paramount’s official Sonic the Hedgehog 3 gallery identifies Shadow, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and the film’s human characters in its stills. It also confirms that Jim Carrey plays both Ivo and Gerald Robotnik. The images introduce characters and cast; they do not, by themselves, prove that Shadow and Robotnik form an alliance.
What do the official Sonic the Hedgehog 3 images show?
Paramount’s official photo gallery provides captions identifying the characters and performers in the stills. It includes Shadow, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, as well as Maria, Agent Stone and Director Rockwell. Some images feature the heroes together; others show individual characters or members of the human cast.
The captions are a dependable guide to who appears in each image, but they do not establish the complete scene or plot context. Nor does the gallery’s existence mean that every image is an exclusive first reveal.
Does Jim Carrey play two Robotniks?
Yes. Paramount’s film page credits Carrey as both Ivo Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik. The official still gallery also identifies Carrey in connection with both roles.

ABC News’s August 27, 2024 report on the official trailer described its ending as Robotnik meeting his “Pop-Pop,” presenting Carrey in a dual role. That trailer report gives context for the two characters, while Paramount’s cast listing is the direct source for the credits.
Are Shadow and Robotnik teaming up?
The official images alone do not answer that question. Paramount’s synopsis says Team Sonic faces Shadow and “must secure an unexpected alliance” to stop him and save the planet. The synopsis establishes that an alliance is part of the premise, but it does not identify every participant or explain the circumstances of each still.
