What happens in the episode?
The official synopsis centers on Jesus returning to deliver a message to South Park’s residents. The Washington Post’s contemporaneous account adds that Jesus appears at the town’s school and describes repeated scenes of the show’s Trump caricature trying to cozy up in bed with Satan. Those scenes are fictional satire, not depictions of real events. Read The Washington Post’s report.
Is the episode only about Trump?
No. The Trump-and-Satan gag is one prominent target, but The Guardian described the episode as also taking aim at Paramount. Its account connected the satire to the Trump lawsuit against Paramount and the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. That is the outlet’s interpretation of the episode’s targets and context, not an official statement from the creators. Read The Guardian’s coverage.
