September 23 has marked two different JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure moments. On September 23, 2026, the official portal announced that Kroi’s “SPIN” is the opening theme for the STEEL BALL RUN anime. Its non-credit opening video and digital single were scheduled for midnight JST on September 24—not for September 23 worldwide. A separate anime information livestream took place on September 23, 2025.
What was announced on September 23, 2026?
The official JoJo portal announcement dated September 23, 2026, confirmed Kroi’s “SPIN” as the opening theme for the STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime. The announcement also scheduled the non-credit opening video premiere and digital-single availability for midnight JST on September 24.
That timing matters: midnight in Japan on September 24 falls on September 23 in some other time zones. The official schedule is stated in JST, so viewers should check the equivalent time where they are rather than treating September 23 as the universal release date.
What is “SPIN,” and how does it connect to Steel Ball Run?
Steel Ball Run follows Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli in a transcontinental horseback race across North America. Kroi said the story’s setting and journey informed the song’s sound. In the band’s comment reproduced by the official portal, the members described drawing on soundscapes reminiscent of Ennio Morricone and The Ventures, associated with classic Westerns, while blending in funk, soul, and hip-hop influences.

Kroi’s comment was attributed to the band, not to a named individual. The official portal identifies “SPIN” as a digital single; its announcement does not establish a physical music release.
What happened on September 23, 2025?
A year earlier, the official animation account advertised a separate STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime information event for September 23, 2025. The post described a free livestream starting at 6:30 p.m. JST and noted English audio. ORICON reported that the event revealed new details about the adaptation.
That 2025 livestream and the 2026 Kroi announcement are distinct news items. The former was an information event about the anime; the latter announced its opening theme and scheduled music-video and digital-single availability.
