“And They Shall Know No Fear,” the Warhammer 40,000 short in Amazon’s animated anthology Secret Level, continues Lieutenant Titus’s story after Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Titus leads a squad of Bladeguard Veterans, and the episode’s central appeal is animated Space Marine combat. Whether that spectacle feels satisfying or leaves too little room for story is a matter of the viewing experience, not something the official announcements settle.
What is the Space Marine 2 episode of Secret Level?
Its official title is “And They Shall Know No Fear.” It is the anthology’s Warhammer 40,000 episode, released on Prime Video on December 10, 2024. Games Workshop described it as inspired by Space Marine 2; Warhammer Community later said the story follows the game’s conclusion. The episode is therefore a continuation of Titus’s story, rather than an adaptation of the game’s events. Games Workshop’s August 2024 announcement introduced the project, while its December 10 launch post named the episode and its premise.
What happens, without spoilers?
Lieutenant Titus leads a squad of Bladeguard Veterans into a fight. The official episode description pitches it as “glorious Warhammer action,” with the squad carving through opposition. That language signals that combat is the focus, but it is publisher copy—not independent proof of the episode’s quality or evidence of a broader critical consensus.
The phrase “bolter porn” is a deliberately blunt shorthand for this kind of combat spectacle. It is not the episode’s official label. The useful question is whether its animated violence is compelling enough to carry a short story, and whether the episode gives Titus or his squad meaningful moments beyond the fighting.

Does it continue Titus’s story after Space Marine 2?
Yes. Warhammer Community explicitly described the short as following the game’s conclusion. That makes it a follow-on chapter for players invested in Titus, while its premise is still easy to understand at a basic level: a Space Marine lieutenant and his squad face a new fight. The official material establishes continuity, but does not say that the short replaces the game or functions as a recap.
Dave Wilson directed the episode, and Clive Standen reprised Titus. Games Workshop said Warhammer Studio partnered with Blur to keep the animation true to the setting’s tone and themes. Those details establish who made it and how the project was framed; they do not, on their own, settle whether the story or animation will work for every viewer. Warhammer Community’s October 2024 announcement includes Wilson’s comments on returning to the universe.

Is it worth watching?
If you want a compact animated continuation centered on Titus and forceful Warhammer 40,000 action, the premise is a direct match. If you need substantial setup, extended character development, or a story that is not primarily organized around combat, the official description alone gives no reason to expect those things. The best way to judge whether the action becomes repetitive or leaves enough room for character and atmosphere is to watch the episode; the available official announcements do not provide independent audience ratings or a critical consensus.
