Marvel’s Nova has no confirmed cast, filming start or release date. The strongest reporting available identifies it as a feature film in early development—not a series already in post-production. A conflicting production-database entry lists a cast, but those names have not been corroborated by the trade report and should not be treated as an official announcement.
Is Marvel’s Nova a movie or a series?
TheWrap reported on July 13, 2026, that Marvel Studios was developing Nova as a feature film in early development. That is the clearest reported description of the project. TheWrap also reported that Michael Waldron was developing the film and that Sabir Pirzada had written an earlier draft. Neither credit establishes that Waldron will direct or that Pirzada’s draft is the final screenplay. TheWrap’s report

A later database listing conflicts with that account: Production List describes Nova as a series in post-production. Another listing, from M&E Production Listings, describes a feature in active development, with start and release dates still to be announced. These entries do not resolve the project’s status; the production-database claims should not outweigh the more clearly attributed trade report or be mistaken for Marvel confirmation. Has Marvel announced the cast?
No verified cast for the feature is established by the available reporting. Production List names Tanner Gillman, Xolo Maridueña, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly, and labels Henry Cavill as rumored. Because this roster appears in a database entry that also conflicts with the trade report’s description of the project, it is unverified—not a confirmed casting announcement. Production List

When does Nova start filming, and when will it be released?
No production start date, filming location or release date is confirmed by the trade report or the reported remarks from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Production List gives a November 2025 London shoot date while describing the project as a series in post-production; M&E instead lists a feature in active development and says the dates are unannounced. Given the conflict, the database date is not reliable confirmation that a Nova feature filmed in London. Production List · M&E Production Listings
What did Kevin Feige say about Nova?
GamesRadar reported that, after the San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel, Feige answered Brandon Davis’s question about Nova with: “Not a damn thing. It’s a movie.” The brief reply supports the feature framing, but it was reported by GamesRadar rather than supplied as an official transcript, and it does not announce cast members, a filming schedule or a release date. What is known about the story?
The project’s specific lead character and plot have not been confirmed. Nova comics context includes Richard Rider, the Nova Corps and the Annihilation storyline, but those elements do not establish which character or events the film will adapt. TheWrap’s report
