The $364 figure comes from a 2012 report about Soine-ya Prime: it was the article’s conversion of 30,000 yen for a seven-hour booking. The story described paid, nonsexual companionship—not a verified offer available today. The sources reviewed do not establish whether Soine-ya Prime or its booking site is still active.
What the $364 price covered
Gizmodo published Steven Simonitch’s article on December 6, 2012, noting that it originally appeared on RocketNews24. It described Soine-ya Prime as a dispatch service where women could hire a male “cast” member for overnight companionship. The reported 30,000-yen fee was for the seven-hour Standard Plan; the $364 amount was the article’s contemporaneous conversion, not a current price or exchange-rate estimate.
The story distinguished Soine-ya Prime from the male-oriented Soine-ya in Akihabara and associated Prime’s concept with the 2011 television drama Shimshima. It characterized the service as nonsexual.
What the report said clients could do
Sleeping in the companion’s arms was one option, but the activities described went beyond that. The 2012 article listed going on a date, simple cleaning, eating at a restaurant, and cooking together. It said clients paid date and restaurant costs and supplied ingredients for cooking.

A current example is a different service
Koikare is a separate provider that publishes rental-boyfriend pricing and terms. Its official service page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists basic hourly rates of 4,000 yen for a new cast member, 5,000 yen for a regular rank, and 5,000 yen or more for premium rank. It also lists extra designation and travel fees, a two-hour minimum booking, and optional online calls. These are Koikare’s published figures, not updated Soine-ya Prime prices.
Koikare’s published rules restrict physical contact and prohibit requests for sexual services. Its homepage displays cast profiles and regional listings. That establishes a current example of the broader service category, not continuity with Soine-ya Prime or availability of the historical plans.
