The Lowdown has been renewed for Season 2. FX announced the renewal on January 7, 2026, and Season 2 is scheduled to premiere October 14, 2026, on FX and Hulu. Sterlin Harjo had previously expressed hope that the series could continue for several seasons, but that comment came before the renewal—not as a response to it.
Has The Lowdown been renewed for Season 2?
Yes. FX announced on January 7, 2026, that The Lowdown would return for a second season on FX and Hulu. The network’s announcement said production was planned to begin in Tulsa in spring 2026; it does not establish the season’s exact production wrap date. FX’s renewal announcement also identified Sterlin Harjo as the series’ creator and executive producer.
When does Season 2 premiere, and where can you watch?
Season 2 is scheduled to premiere October 14, 2026, on FX and Hulu, according to ABC’s September 30, 2026 viewing guide. FX describes the season as eight episodes. FX’s series page says all Season 1 episodes are available on Hulu, whose catalog lists the series for streaming.
What did Sterlin Harjo say about more seasons?
Before FX confirmed Season 2, Harjo said he hoped the show could continue for a few more seasons, with each season functioning as its own chapter. TVLine’s renewal-day report quoted him from an earlier TV Insider interview: “We see this going on for a few more seasons, hopefully, with luck, and everyone puts it out there and loves it. But yeah, it’ll keep going and, I think, that each season would be its own chapter, which this chapter is ‘The Sensitive Kind.’” TVLine’s account presents this as a pre-renewal comment. It is evidence of Harjo’s creative hopes, not a direct reaction to FX’s January announcement.

What FX has said about the show’s recognition
