Apple describes a world rife with deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups, and asks who can be trusted and how anyone can know what is real. That makes AI-related deception a significant thread, while keeping the larger focus on journalism, institutional power and truth-finding. Apple TV Press’s season-four announcement does not describe the season as solely about AI.
Does season 4 cover AI?
Yes, through its deepfake storyline and the broader problem of distinguishing reliable information from fabricated or manipulated material. The official synopsis does not provide technical detail about the tools involved, so it is more accurate to call AI and deepfakes part of the season’s themes than to treat the show as a technical account of AI.

Apple’s season-four announcement lists these additions to the ensemble:

- Jeremy Irons
- Aaron Pierre
- William Jackson Harper
- Boyd Holbrook
The returning ensemble includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, Nestor Carbonell, Mark Duplass, Greta Lee and Jon Hamm. Aniston and Witherspoon are also executive producers. Apple credits Charlotte Stoudt as showrunner and executive producer, Mimi Leder as director and executive producer, and Media Res as the studio. The 10-episode season premiered globally on Apple TV on September 17, 2025, with episodes released weekly through November 19, 2025, according to Apple TV Press. Apple’s series page lists season 4 as streaming globally on Apple TV.
Where can you watch it?
Apple TV is the official service for the series. Apple lists Amazon Fire TV devices among the screens that support Apple TV, so an Amazon Fire TV streaming device is one optional way to watch if you need a compatible device. It is not necessary if you already have another supported screen. Check Apple’s service and device availability for your region before choosing a viewing setup.

Yes. Apple announced on July 23, 2026, that season 5 is expected in 2027 and will be the series’ final season. The announcement also names Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes and Lizzy Caplan among the season-five additions. See Apple TV Press’s final-season announcement.
