Finn is the son of actor Owen Wilson and Caroline Lindqvist. The Los Angeles Times reported that he was born on January 30, 2014, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, citing a birth certificate obtained by TMZ.

What did Owen Wilson and Caroline Lindqvist say about their relationship?
In a 2013 interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Lindqvist said she and Wilson decided to have a child even though they were not in a relationship. She described them as “two close friends having a baby together” and said they had been a couple years earlier, then remained friends. She also said they did not plan to start a romantic relationship.
Lindqvist clarified in the same interview that Wilson had never been her personal-training client, despite reports describing her as his trainer. Her account is the clearest direct public explanation of the arrangement they made before Finn’s birth.

A 2021 Esquire profile discussed Wilson’s parenting and his sons. The magazine described the boys as living near their mothers and characterized Wilson’s arrangement as a “single-dad schedule.” That is Esquire’s description, not a legal custody designation.
In 2025, Wilson also discussed helping his children learn golf in an interview reported by AOL, and spoke to Parade about his sons sometimes tuning out his sports advice. These comments show him talking about fatherhood, but they are not detailed accounts specifically about Finn.
A dated public outing with Finn
E! News reported that Wilson attended a Los Angeles FC match with Finn and his older son, Robert Ford, on April 20, 2024. It documents one occasion when they were together; it does not establish a regular schedule or custody arrangement.

The public record supports a measured conclusion: Wilson is involved in parenting Finn, while Lindqvist described the decision to have him as one made by friends rather than a couple.
