How did Damon end up in the film?
The writers—Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer, and David Mandel—were Damon’s college friends. While Damon was in Prague preparing for The Brothers Grimm, they asked him to take the part. Why does Damon have a shaved head?
The look was partly a by-product of his other film. Schaffer said Damon had shaved his head for The Brothers Grimm and wore a wig for that role; the EuroTrip commentary also places Damon in Prague for Gilliam’s film. How limited was the shoot?
Schaffer recalled that Damon’s schedule constrained the filming. The scene takes place at a night party, and the available night was the shortest night of the year. That detail comes from Schaffer’s recollection, rather than a published production schedule. Schaffer’s interview

Where does the cameo fit in the film?
EuroTrip is a 2004 comedy. The British Board of Film Classification lists its runtime as 90 minutes and 17 seconds; that figure is the BBFC’s listing, not a claim that every release has an identical runtime. BBFC film record
