Samsung has featured different performers in different campaigns, products, years, and markets. For example, Nigel Sylvester appeared in a Galaxy S9-related campaign, Christoph Waltz in a Galaxy Note7 ad, David Beckham in a GALAXY S III Olympic Games commercial, and Kamo Mphela and Youngsta CPT in a 2024 Galaxy A Series campaign in South Africa.
Samsung Galaxy commercials do not have one universal star
The answer depends on which commercial you mean. A celebrity associated with a particular Galaxy campaign is not necessarily the actor in another ad—or in Galaxy advertising generally. Product, campaign name, country, and approximate year are useful clues for narrowing it down.
| Campaign or clue | Performer(s) | Product and market | Period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Make It Yours; GO – London to Paris | Nigel Sylvester | Galaxy S9; Samsung does not state a market in the cited campaign description | 2018 |
| Olympic-period campaign commercial | Christoph Waltz | Galaxy Note7; campaign addressed Americans | 2016 |
| Olympic Games television commercial | David Beckham | GALAXY S III; Samsung said the ad would air in more than 20 countries, including the UK, France, and China | 2012 |
| Galaxy A Series campaign | Kamo Mphela; Youngsta CPT was also featured | South Africa | 2024 |
Which actors did Samsung name in specific campaigns?
Nigel Sylvester: Galaxy S9 and Make It Yours
Samsung connected BMX rider Nigel Sylvester with the Galaxy S9 in material about his GO – London to Paris film, and pointed readers to his appearance in the company’s Make It Yours commercial. This is a specific Galaxy S9 campaign association, not evidence that Sylvester stars in Galaxy commercials generally. Samsung’s campaign account.
Christoph Waltz: Galaxy Note7
Samsung identified actor Christoph Waltz in a Galaxy Note7 campaign commercial tied to the 2016 Olympic period. In the ad, he questions Americans’ busy lives before recognizing their activity as ambition. Samsung’s description of the campaign.

Before settling on a name, note any details that distinguish one campaign from another:

- Product: Was the ad for a Galaxy S9, Note7, GALAXY S III, or Galaxy A Series?
- Visuals or campaign wording: Did you see Make It Yours, a BMX ride, an Olympic Games theme, or a Galaxy A Series ad?
- Country or language: A regional campaign, such as Samsung’s 2024 South African campaign, may have different featured performers from an international ad.
- Approximate date: Even a rough year can help distinguish older campaigns from recent ones.
If those clues do not match a campaign above, describe the ad, the country where you saw it, the Galaxy product, or when it aired. Without that context, naming one actor would be a guess. Samsung’s cited 2014 Galaxy S5 material names director Tarsem Singh but does not identify the on-screen lead, so that credit alone cannot answer who appeared in the commercial.
