Scott Foley’s exact first episode as Seth McDale in Will Trent Season 3 cannot be confirmed from the official ABC episode records cited here. ABC scheduled the season’s episode “Find a New Pond” for January 21, 2025, but its press release does not identify Foley as a cast member. That date is not evidence of his debut.
What is known about Scott Foley’s first appearance?
The reviewed ABC material does not establish which episode first featured Foley as Seth McDale, or the date that appearance aired. A reliable answer requires an episode-specific cast record; a general casting announcement or a schedule entry alone cannot confirm a debut.

Why January 21, 2025, is not a confirmed debut date
ABC’s January 8, 2025 press release scheduled Season 3 episode “Find a New Pond” (303) for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 8 to 9 p.m. EST. It says episodes stream on Hulu the next day, but does not name Foley in the episode’s cast. The episode description concerns poisonings tied to a family-owned business and Angie’s discovery at Waldorf Estates; neither detail establishes Foley’s first appearance. Read ABC’s press release for “Find a New Pond”.
Season 3 is in the past
As of October 8, 2026, Season 3 is a completed season, not an upcoming one. ABC’s press listings include Season 4, whose premiere, “… Speaking of Sharks,” was scheduled for January 6, 2026. See ABC’s Season 4 premiere notice and ABC’s Will Trent press releases.

Where to check the episode information
ABC’s Season 3 episode page is a starting point for episode listings. The official material cited here still does not resolve Foley’s first credited appearance, so it would be misleading to name an episode or air date as confirmed. ABC’s 2025 release said episodes streamed on Hulu the following day; current availability should be checked with the services in your region.
