What has Hayes said about earning the NXT Championship?
In his April 6, 2023 interview with Chris Phelan for USA Insider, Hayes said, “I feel like I’ve earned it.” He explained that he had started at the bottom of NXT, worked his way up and faced adversity. Asked about speculation that he was on the cusp of a main-roster move, he said he wanted to focus on “what’s on my plate now.” Those comments reflect his perspective at the time, after winning the NXT Championship—not a statement about his current plans.
