How is the film connected to Aaron Blabey’s book?
The movie is based on Aaron Blabey’s Thelma the Unicorn. Netflix announced the adaptation on June 5, 2019, naming Jared Hess and Jerusha Hess as writers adapting the book. That announcement also named Blabey and Patrick Hughes of Foundation Media Partners as executive producers. These are the roles identified in the dated announcement; the later Media Center lists the film’s directors.
The official descriptions establish the adaptation and the movie’s broad premise, but do not provide a scene-by-scene comparison with the book. Readers interested in the source material can look for Blabey’s original book; check the retailer or publisher for current editions and availability.
