Metz said a panic attack on her birthday prompted her to change course. She reported losing 100 pounds in less than five months while eating 2,000 calories a day and walking for 20 minutes daily, according to Women’s Health’s account of her interview with the Daily Mail. That is a retrospective description of her own experience, not a recommended diet or exercise plan for readers.
Strength training in a later phase
In 2025, Metz discussed lifting weights and working with a personal trainer whose approach felt supportive. She described strength and long-term health as priorities, rather than framing progress solely around a scale target. Did Chrissy Metz take Ozempic?
In 2026 interviews, Metz disclosed using a GLP-1 medication, but the reporting reviewed does not identify a specific drug or dose. She has also said she does not want a fixed scale number to define success. In a PEOPLE interview, she described focusing on comfort, strength and what she is capable of, while continuing to lift and build muscle.
