What “biggest” means in this ranking
JustWatch says its charts are calculated from user activity over the last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. That activity includes clicking a streaming offer, adding a title to a watchlist, and marking a title as seen. It is an engagement-based popularity indicator, not a count of verified streams or minutes watched.

JustWatch says its data is collected from more than 50 million movie and TV fans per month and updated daily across 140 countries and 4,500 streaming services. Those figures describe the stated reach of its chart data; they do not mean that many people watched any one show. The U.S. ranking can differ from charts in other countries, and positions can move as activity and catalogs change.
Netflix’s separate U.S. top 10
East of Eden also topped Tom’s Guide’s U.S. Netflix top 10 as of October 6, 2026. That list is a Netflix-specific editorial ranking from a different date, not a second measurement of the JustWatch cross-service chart.

Tom’s Guide describes East of Eden as a seven-part period drama created and written by Zoe Kazan, based on John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel. Its account says the series follows the Trask family across generations in early-1900s California. Steinbeck’s novel is optional context for viewers; it is not a prerequisite to watching the adaptation. Read Tom’s Guide’s October 6 Netflix ranking and description for its source and framing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.New releases are not the same as popularity rankings
A weekly release roundup answers what is new or returning, not necessarily what viewers are engaging with most. Tom’s Guide’s October 5 coverage of the October 5–11 week spotlights Carrie, Treasure Island, and Below across services including Netflix, Paramount+, and Prime Video. It is release context, not a unified popularity chart. A separate Spanish-market roundup lists Carrie as a Prime Video series debut on October 7; that is not evidence of U.S. release availability.

How to use the rankings to choose a show
- Start with the market and date. The top 10 above is a U.S. snapshot from October 8, 2026, not a permanent or worldwide list.
- Check what a chart measures. JustWatch tracks user activity; a platform-specific editorial top 10 has a different scope and method.
- Use genre and format to narrow the field. For instance, if a period drama interests you, Tom’s Guide describes East of Eden as a seven-part adaptation of Steinbeck’s novel.
- Verify the live service listing. The chart’s service icons are useful starting points, but current availability and channel options should be confirmed on the title’s listing.
