Fey, who wrote the original film and the stage musical, appears as Ms. Norbury. Tim Meadows returns as Mr. Duvall, his role from the 2004 movie. Fey also wrote the new film’s screenplay.
Cady and Regina have new performers
In the 2004 movie, Lindsay Lohan played Cady and Rachel McAdams played Regina. In the 2024 film, those roles belong to Angourie Rice and Reneé Rapp, respectively. Lohan appeared at the new film’s premiere, but she is not listed among its principal cast in the cited official cast information.

Rice told the Associated Press that she loved Lohan’s performance and hoped her own portrayal would add to the legacy of the earlier Cady. The connection is a passing of the screen role, not a claim that the two films have the same cast.
