Spoilers: Season 6, Episode 6 of The Kardashians, titled “Kim and Khloe Take India,” follows Kim and Khloé Kardashian to Mumbai for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. The trip includes outfit preparations, shopping, the wedding itself and a visit to an ashram and temple with Jay Shetty. The episode’s final answer to the missing-diamond question is simple: Kim never gets it back.
Why Kim and Khloé go to Mumbai
Kim says she does not personally know the Ambanis. As The Indian Express reported in 2025, Kim explains that jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, a friend who works with the family, passed along the invitation. Kim says they accepted “on a whim.” The report describes the Mumbai trip as lasting 48 hours and says the invitation was said to weigh 18–22 kilograms; that weight is reported from the episode, not independently measured.
The short visit gives the episode its basic shape: arrival and welcome, getting ready, shopping, the wedding, and a spiritual-service visit. Kim and Khloé are guests at a particular high-profile event, not guides to India.
Getting ready and shopping
Before the ceremony, the sisters prepare their wedding looks and go shopping for souvenirs and gifts. Their conversation includes what to bring back for children in their family, giving the trip some everyday family chatter amid the event’s unusually grand setting.

The Ambani wedding, through the sisters’ eyes
At the wedding, Kim and Khloé react to the scale and pageantry. Kim also remarks on the monsoon-season timing and speculates about why the date was chosen. That is Kim’s on-screen understanding, not an explanation of Hindu wedding customs; the episode does not offer a comprehensive account of the ceremony or its cultural context.
The show’s perspective is necessarily narrow: it follows two celebrity guests through a brief, highly edited visit centered on a lavish wedding. Indian Link’s contemporaneous satire criticized Kim’s Aladdin comparison and the spectacle-centered brevity of the trip. That is one published criticism, not evidence of a consensus among Indian viewers.

A visit with Jay Shetty shifts the mood
Jay Shetty and his wife take Kim and Khloé to an ashram and temple connected to Shetty’s past as a monk. Reporting on the episode says the sisters serve food there. Khloé describes the experience as a counterweight to their usual world: “We do come from a very materialistic place. I think going to this temple, and feeding these children, and being around Jay and his wife, and just the spirituality of it all, it was a balance that we definitely need,” she says, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Did Kim find the diamond?
No. A pre-release promo teased Kim’s panic over a missing diamond, but the episode ends without its recovery. In the episode transcript, Kim says, “We never found the diamond.” Khloé answers, “RIP,” and the sisters suggest a mock memorial card “In loving memory… of the Ambani wedding diamond.” The resolution turns the lost jewel into the episode’s closing joke rather than a mystery that gets solved.

The episode’s other family threads
The Mumbai trip is only one strand of the episode. A contemporaneous Fandom Daily recap also describes Kris Jenner speaking with Scott Disick about the death of Kris’s sister Karen, while Kourtney supports Travis Barker’s charity running activity. These scenes sit alongside the wedding storyline as separate family moments: grief in one, and support for Travis’s charitable effort in another.
