ABC has renewed High Potential for season 3. The decision was reported in March 2026, confirming the crime procedural will continue. A report places the new season in early 2027, but ABC has not been cited as announcing an exact premiere date.
ABC has renewed High Potential for season 3
The March 2026 renewal means the series is returning; its future is no longer in doubt. The renewal was reported by Deadline and also covered by ABC. The headline phrase “2025’s most popular” should not be read as a verified overall ranking: popularity depends on which viewers, platforms, time period, and ratings measure are counted.

When will season 3 premiere?
Indexed reporting places season 3 in early 2027. Treat that as a reported window, not a confirmed premiere date: no exact date is established here. Check ABC’s schedule for a firm broadcast date as it is announced.
Todd Harthan is leaving the showrunner role
Renewal coverage reports that Todd Harthan, who led the series for its first two seasons, is stepping down as showrunner. The available reporting does not establish who will replace him.

What the audience figures show—and what they do not
Deadline reported Nielsen live+7 multiplatform totals for three High Potential broadcasts. Because these figures use the same measurement, they can be compared with one another:
| Broadcast | Nielsen live+7 multiplatform total viewers |
|---|---|
| Season 1 finale | 12.79 million |
| Season 2 premiere | 11.99 million |
| Season 2 finale | 12.69 million |
These reported totals indicate substantial viewership for the listed episodes, but they do not establish that the show was the single most popular series of 2025 across all networks and streaming services. A ranking would need a defined audience, platform scope, time window, and consistent measurement method.

Where to watch
An indexed report says ABC episodes stream on Hulu the day after broadcast. Availability and subscription terms can vary by region and may change, so check Hulu’s current listing where you live.
