How does Season 2 continue Dwight’s personal story?
Season 2 carries forward the consequences of Dwight’s Season 1 arrest. Winter says Dwight is dealing with legal trouble and trying to mend his relationship with his daughter Tina while building connections with his grandsons. The season gives more attention to the characters’ histories and relationships; as Winter put it, “The fact that we now get to really learn more about our characters throughout the course of the season.”
What does Dwight’s unfinished New York business involve?
Paramount’s synopsis confirms that Dwight has unresolved business in New York, but does not identify the specific matter. The available season description does not establish what he must settle there, so it is best understood as an ongoing connection to his past rather than a more specific plot reveal.
