They can help surface incomplete or potentially mismatched work information and let writers propose corrections. They do not enroll a songwriter with a rights organization or pay royalties: TIDAL says distributors or labels deliver royalty data and disbursements.
What TIDAL’s songwriter tools show
The launch reporting described a dashboard for songwriters who could claim a TIDAL profile after documentation verification. The reported eligibility details included having a performing rights organization (PRO) and an Interested Party Information (IPI) number. TIDAL said the free tools use its catalog and third-party data.
The dashboard groups works into completed works, works without recordings, and unmatched works. It can display songwriter, publisher, PRO, IPI, recording, and royalty-split information, helping writers inspect what TIDAL associates with their work. The launch reports also described possible works with incorrect songwriter credits and a way to propose metadata changes.
- Completed works: works shown with royalty information in the dashboard.
- Works without recordings: works for which the dashboard does not show a matching recording.
- Unmatched works: possible works or recordings that the available catalog information has not matched.
These categories are visibility and metadata aids, not proof that every composition has been identified or that a royalty claim has been accepted. A proposed change is not the same as a confirmed correction across every database or rights administrator.

How to claim a profile and review information
At launch, TIDAL directed eligible songwriters to claim access through TIDAL Artist Home, with identity or documentation verification. The contemporaneous coverage does not establish that the exact screens or requirements remain unchanged, so treat this as the reported launch workflow rather than a guarantee of current interface labels.
- Prepare your songwriter details. The launch coverage identified a PRO affiliation and IPI number as relevant to the profile-claim process.
- Claim access in TIDAL Artist Home. Follow the current profile-claim and verification prompts available there.
- Check the listed works and credits. Review songwriter and publisher details, recordings, and royalty splits; note missing or apparently mismatched entries.
- Submit a proposed metadata correction if needed. Keep the work identifiers and supporting details available, and verify the resulting record with the relevant distributor, label, publisher, or rights organization.
TIDAL Artist Home terms describe role-based profile access for artists and authorized representatives and say beta features may change or be discontinued. Those general terms are platform context, not a separate guarantee about a particular songwriter-tool feature.

Three separate jobs: TIDAL metadata, performing rights, and mechanical royalties
A profile claim helps a songwriter inspect information linked to TIDAL. It is distinct from registering rights with an organization that licenses or collects royalties. At launch, TIDAL highlighted AllTrack for performing-rights registration and pointed US songwriters to the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) for US mechanical royalties.
| Route | What it addresses | What it does not mean |
|---|---|---|
| TIDAL Artist Home songwriter tools | Visibility into TIDAL-associated credits and royalty-related metadata; the ability to propose changes, as described in August 2024 launch coverage. | Not, by itself, registration with a PRO or the MLC, nor a payment service. |
| PRO / AllTrack | Performing-rights registration. AllTrack was the option TIDAL highlighted at launch. | A TIDAL profile claim does not establish PRO membership or guarantee collection. |
| MLC | US mechanical-royalty route identified in the launch coverage. | It is separate from performing-rights registration and from TIDAL’s metadata dashboard. |
| Distributor or label | TIDAL’s current support guidance says distributors or labels deliver royalty data and disbursements; it identifies them as the best contacts for royalty-payment questions. | Correcting a TIDAL credit does not itself change a distributor’s or label’s payment records. |
The distinctions matter because a writer can see a track or split in TIDAL without that view proving registration, matching, or payment status elsewhere. TIDAL Support’s Artist Resources page, updated January 21, 2026, directs royalty-data and payment questions to the distributor or label: TIDAL Artist Resources.

Does TIDAL pay songwriters directly?
The dashboard should not be treated as a direct royalty-payment service. TIDAL’s current support guidance says distributors or labels deliver royalty data and disbursements, and are the best point of contact for payment questions. For a discrepancy, use the dashboard to identify the record or metadata issue, then contact the party responsible for the relevant delivery, registration, or payment route.
Where to verify a correction
For a TIDAL listing or credit, use the available Artist Home process. For royalty data or disbursement, contact the distributor or label, as TIDAL’s support guidance recommends. For performing rights or US mechanical royalties, follow the applicable PRO or MLC process; a correction in one system should not be assumed to update the others automatically.
