TIFF 2024’s film selection ranged from intimate documentaries to horror, comedy and literary adaptations. Mashable’s 2024 preview picked 15 films to watch for—not as an official festival ranking, but as an editorial snapshot of notable titles, filmmakers and premises. This is a historical look at that selection; release plans mentioned at the time are not a guide to where the films are available now.

How to read this selection today
The 15 titles are best understood as an editorial guide to films drawing attention at TIFF in 2024, rather than a definitive ranking of the festival’s strongest work. The preview highlights a range of genres and recognizable creative names, but does not provide a common rating system or evaluate every film on the same terms.
Its release references are also historical. For example, the Netflix debut date for Will & Harper was reported as a future plan in 2024; the preview does not establish present-day streaming destinations or availability for the titles as a group.
