Sienna Evans said she was portrayed unfairly on Southern Charm Season 10 and disputed the claim that she pursued Whitney Sudler-Smith on Raya before dating Shep Rose. Her account is that Sudler-Smith sent her a direct request in 2023, she replied briefly, and Rose contacted her about a month later. Cast members described the exchange differently. The available reports attribute these competing claims but do not independently verify the app conversation.
Why Sienna Evans said she was correcting the show’s portrayal
In a series of TikTok videos posted in February 2025, while Season 10 was airing, Evans said she had been portrayed as a villain and wanted to address what she called “mistruths.” TheThings quoted her opening remarks as: “There have been a lot of mistruths… and I kind of think it’s time for me to talk about it.” TheThings’ February 21, 2025 report described the videos and her response to the Raya story.

The dispute centers on who initiated a reported 2023 interaction with Sudler-Smith on Raya, and whether the exchange supported the suspicion expressed by some cast members about Evans’s motives. Those are contested interpretations, not established findings about her intent.
Who says they initiated the Raya exchange?
| Question | Evans’s account | What cast members reportedly said |
|---|---|---|
| Who initiated contact? | Evans said Sudler-Smith sent her a direct request and opened with a brief greeting. She said she did not initiate the exchange. | Whitney Sudler-Smith reportedly said Evans had liked him first. Patricia Altschul reportedly called the situation suspicious and called Evans “Stalker!” |
| Was it a match or a direct request? | Evans described it as a direct request, not a match she had started. Yahoo’s Us Weekly report quoted her saying: “He wasn’t even a connection of mine, he direct-requested me and said, ‘Hi, how are you?’” | The reported on-show comments do not independently establish how the app interaction occurred. |
| What is independently confirmed? | The entertainment reports recount the competing statements; they do not authenticate an original Raya record or settle who made the first move. | |
Evans also said she did not recognize Sudler-Smith later. Yahoo’s February 19, 2025 report of Us Weekly’s coverage gives her account of the request. The exchange remains her account rather than a verified app record.

Altschul’s “ulterior motives” remark and the “Stalker!” label were reported as comments made on the show; Sudler-Smith’s account was also reported as an on-show claim. A Yahoo roundup recounted those remarks and the episode discussion. They explain why Evans was labeled a villain in the dispute’s coverage, but they do not prove that she sought out Sudler-Smith or establish her motives.
How Evans described meeting Shep Rose
Evans said she met Rose on Raya about a month after the reported Sudler-Smith exchange. According to TheThings, they continued the conversation on Instagram. She disputed the suggestion that her grandmother’s interest in Southern Charm explained her involvement with Rose: Evans said she was already talking to him when she learned her grandmother was a fan.

Cast members reportedly questioned her motives after her grandmother was described as a viewer of the show. That suspicion is separate from the chronology Evans gave, and the coverage does not independently establish what she knew or intended at the time.
What was reported about Evans and Rose’s relationship
Reports described Evans and Rose as having a long-distance relationship that ended in fall 2024. Rose reportedly said the distance was difficult. Evans, meanwhile, said they had met only “like six or seven times” and had not formally defined the relationship as exclusive, according to Reality Tea’s March 5, 2025 report. Those accounts address different points: distance and a reported breakup on one hand, and how often they met and whether they had agreed to exclusivity on the other.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the available reporting can—and cannot—settle
- Reported: Evans said Sudler-Smith sent the 2023 Raya request, she responded briefly, and Rose contacted her roughly a month later.
- Also reported: Sudler-Smith and Altschul made comments that cast doubt on Evans’s account or motives during the show’s discussion.
- Not independently established: The underlying app exchange, who actually sent the first interaction, or Evans’s motive.
The careful answer to “Who messaged whom first?” is that Evans said Sudler-Smith direct-requested her, while Sudler-Smith reportedly said she liked him first. The entertainment coverage presents those as conflicting accounts, not as a question resolved by authenticated app evidence.
