Scarlett Johansson closed Saturday Night Live’s Season 50 finale on May 17, 2025, with a cast singalong parody set to Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” The number looked back on the show’s eventful season; Joel did not appear.
What happened in Johansson’s finale monologue?
NBC lists the episode as Season 50, Episode 21, dated May 17, 2025, with Johansson hosting and Bad Bunny as musical guest. In her closing monologue, Johansson led cast members in a song using the tune of “Piano Man.” The Associated Press described it as a reflection on the season, including the election, the show’s anniversary special and a star-studded concert.
Johansson sang, “Sing us a song, it’s your monologue, the 50th season is through,” then later, “It’s lasting forever, we did it together, and we got to spend it with you,” according to AP’s transcription of the performance.
Which cast members joined the song?
AP names Bowen Yang, Ego Nwodim, Mikey Day and Heidi Gardner among the performers joining Johansson. The group’s singalong turned the closing monologue into a collective farewell to the season.
