The husband-and-kids surprise associated with Sara Haines’s birthday was reported as a 2018 GMA Day segment, not a The View celebration. The View marked a different birthday in 2022 with an Iowa-themed tribute.
Which show had the family birthday surprise?
A People article dated September 18, 2018, identified in a secondary biography entry, describes Haines being surprised on air by her husband and children for her 41st birthday on GMA Day. The citation supports the show and year, but does not establish the details of what each family member did. People’s 2018 article
That distinction matters because Haines has been associated with both programs: ABC says she co-hosted The View from 2016 to 2018, returned in 2020, and previously co-hosted GMA 3: Strahan, Sara & Keke. ABC’s biography of Sara Haines
What happened on The View in 2022?
The View celebrated Haines’s 45th birthday on its live Friday, September 16, 2022 episode, two days before her birthday on September 18. Joy Behar helped orchestrate the celebration, which honored Haines’s Newton, Iowa roots. ABC News’s account of the celebration
