The Weeknd previewed songs from the then-unreleased Hurry Up Tomorrow at Estádio MorumBIS in São Paulo on September 7, 2024. The one-night-only Brazil show also featured Playboi Carti and Anitta, but the names attached to some new songs were provisional at the time: the album tracklist had not yet been released, and The Weeknd did not introduce every song by name.
What happened at The Weeknd’s São Paulo show?
The Weeknd performed at Estádio MorumBIS on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in what São Paulo FC described as his only Brazil performance. The venue’s report the following day said the audience heard new songs from Hurry Up Tomorrow, which had not yet been released. São Paulo FC’s event report named Anitta and Playboi Carti as special guests.
Universal Music Canada described the event as a sold-out, one-night-only concert attended by more than 70,000 fans. That attendance figure came from the label’s September 9 announcement, rather than an independent ticket audit. The label framed Hurry Up Tomorrow as the concluding album chapter after After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022). Universal Music Canada’s announcement also said the show’s production was new.
Which new songs did The Weeknd play?
The venue’s 27-entry setlist included “Fades to Black / Run Away,” “Wake Me Up,” “Take Me Back to LA,” “Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless,” “São Paulo,” “Hold Your Heart,” and “Hurry Up Tomorrow.” Those are the titles printed in the venue’s next-day report; they should not all be read as names announced definitively from the stage.
#1 Best Overall
- Hurry Up Tomorrow (Complete Edition) features 22 tracks on 2 CDs
At the time, the album tracklist had not been made public. Billboard Canada reported that The Weeknd did not introduce the new songs by name, and described “Dancing in the Flames,” “Run Away,” and “In Heaven” as presumed titles based on what listeners heard. It characterized Carti’s unreleased song as possibly called “Timeless.” Billboard Canada’s contemporaneous report therefore captures the uncertainty listeners faced during the show, while the venue’s published list reflects the titles it used afterward.
In its retrospective, setlist.fm identified live debuts of “Wake Me Up,” “Timeless” with Playboi Carti, and “São Paulo” with Anitta. That account helps connect the performance to later song naming, but it does not change the fact that the titles were not all confirmed from the stage that night. setlist.fm’s show page lists 27 songs.

- Hurry Up Tomorrow is the sixth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter the Weeknd, released through XO and Republic Records
Who joined him onstage?
Playboi Carti
Universal Music Canada said Carti performed two songs before Anitta’s surprise appearance. Billboard Canada reported that one was Travis Scott’s “FE!N” and called the other an unreleased track possibly titled “Timeless.” The venue list and setlist.fm later used “Timeless” for Carti’s appearance with The Weeknd.
Anitta
The label said Anitta appeared atop the stage’s ancient-building set, disguised as one of the dancers, before joining The Weeknd for “São Paulo.” São Paulo FC confirmed her presence as a special guest, and setlist.fm identifies “São Paulo” as a live debut featuring her.

What did the show have to do with the album?
The concert took place before Hurry Up Tomorrow had a public release date. Billboard Canada reported at the time that no date had been announced. Universal Music Canada’s September 9 notice said CD and vinyl preorders were available, but that announcement is historical and does not establish current stock or pricing.
After the concert, the label said a display of 150 drones spelled out the album title. It also reported that the equivalent of $1 from each ticket sold would go to the XO Humanitarian Fund in support of the UN World Food Programme. Both figures and the pledge are claims from Universal Music Canada’s announcement.

The label also said 10% of net proceeds from a limited-edition XO merchandise collection tied to the concert would be donated to BrazilFoundation’s Brazilian Soul Fund. The announcement does not establish whether the collection remains available.

São Paulo FC printed 27 setlist entries, and setlist.fm described 27 songs. gshow, in a report published on the show date and updated in 2025, described a 29-song setlist. The accounts do not explain the discrepancy, which may reflect how medleys or segments were counted; there is no established definitive total across the sources.

Setlist.fm’s retrospective also gives album subtotals of 11 songs from After Hours, seven from Hurry Up Tomorrow, and six from Dawn FM. Those figures add up to 24 rather than the page’s stated 27-song total, so they are not a complete breakdown of every entry.
The venue’s list includes earlier songs such as “After Hours,” “Take My Breath,” “Sacrifice,” “Save Your Tears,” and “Blinding Lights.” Its printed spelling for the Dawn FM track is “Less Then Zero.”
What did The Weeknd say about performing in Brazil?
gshow quoted The Weeknd, attributing the remark to a Billboard interview: “São Paulo e Rio me lembraram que as frequências que emitimos como músicos são importantes. Me lembram por que eu queria fazer música: para me conectar. Vou passar o resto da vida consciente disso.” The accessible gshow report did not link to the original Billboard interview.
