Rotten Tomatoes published Jacqueline Coley’s 2026 Golden Globe nominations forecast on December 5, 2025, three days before the nominees were announced. It covered major film categories—not television—and named One Battle After Another as the season’s early favorite. The nominations have since been announced, so the forecast is best read alongside the final slate rather than as current nominations news.

What Rotten Tomatoes was predicting
Coley’s feature answered the pre-announcement question of “who will be nominated next week in all the major film categories at the Golden Globes.” It was an editorial forecast, not an announcement from the Globes or a report of confirmed nominees. Coley described One Battle After Another as “safely positioned as the favorite,” citing its then-recent top prizes from the National Board of Review, Gotham Awards, and New York Film Critics Circle. That was her December 5 assessment of its momentum, not a guarantee of a Golden Globe outcome.
The lists below preserve the article’s six principal picks per category. Where the article separately identified a possible spoiler, it is shown apart from those six; it is not counted as an additional main pick.

The later Rotten Tomatoes recap confirms that the nominations were announced and provides the actual slate. In drama picture, the announced nominees were Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just an Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and Sinners—the same six films Coley predicted.
For musical or comedy picture, the announced nominees were Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, Nouvelle Vague, and One Battle After Another. Four of those six appeared in Coley’s six picks; Jay Kelly and Wicked: For Good were her other two selections.
Rank #2
The recap also lists the announced nominees in acting, craft, animation, and song categories. To assess those forecasts fairly, compare each row above with its corresponding category in the final nominee list. That keeps unlike categories separate and avoids turning a forecast into a single accuracy score without first defining how the score treats categories, separately labeled spoilers, and individual picks.
