Were Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar booked to face each other?
No. WWE’s January 16, 2026 entrant announcement listed both wrestlers for the same men’s Royal Rumble Match. That means they were participants in a multi-wrestler contest, not that WWE had announced a dedicated one-on-one bout between them.
A Royal Rumble is contested by a changing field: two wrestlers start in the ring, and more enter at timed intervals. A wrestler is eliminated when they go over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. The last participant remaining wins. Sharing the ring during that format is not the same as being booked for a conventional singles match.

The event was held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE’s corporate announcement had identified Riyadh as the host city.

According to WWE’s official results, Lesnar entered at No. 22 and was eliminated by Cody Rhodes and LA Knight. Reigns entered at No. 26 and won the men’s match. WWE states that the Royal Rumble winner earns a guaranteed World Championship match at WrestleMania.
