The ring girl who drew attention during the November 15, 2024, Mike Tyson–Jake Paul fight was Sydney Thomas. In interviews after the Netflix-streamed event, she said her social-media inboxes filled rapidly, with messages from prominent accounts, brands and people asking her on dates.
Who was the ring girl, and what did she say?
Sydney Thomas was one of the ring girls at the Paul–Tyson bout, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Paul won after eight rounds. In a November 19, 2024 interview with Us Weekly, Thomas described the sudden attention this way: “My DMs are just insanely flooded right now.” She added that “some pretty big names and brands” had reached out, but did not identify them.
What did she mean by “overwhelming” DMs?
In a later interview published by People on December 5, Thomas described the messages as coming from all kinds of accounts: “There’s everything, anything from blue check marks to random people.” She also said many people were trying to date her and that she had not yet been able to “fully wrap my head around it all.”
Those are Thomas’s descriptions of what she received, rather than an independently verified count or analysis of her inbox. The interviews convey the range and intensity she reported, but do not establish how many individual messages she got.

How quickly did her social-media following grow?
Us Weekly reported that Thomas said she gained more than 350,000 followers on both Instagram and TikTok overnight after the fight. That is her reported account of the increase, not a platform-verified measurement. Follower totals reported in other contemporaneous coverage were snapshots from a different moment; they should not be combined with this figure or treated as current counts.

In a December 2024 interview, Thomas said she expected to continue working as a ring girl with Most Valuable Promotions. Us Weekly later reported that she had signed with CAA Sports. These are historical reports and do not establish her current bookings or representation.
