Her account describes the relationship she observed; it does not establish every detail of how her parents handled their separation privately.

Lisa Marie died in January 2023. Riley later helped complete her mother’s memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, using recorded material. The official book page says the book covers Lisa Marie’s lifelong relationship with Danny and that Lisa Marie asked Riley to help finish it in 2022.

In a 2024 interview reported by the Associated Press, Riley recalled enjoying the happy stories about how her parents met and fell in love. She also reflected on the value of preserving family memories:
“It makes me want to tell everyone to talk to their parents and record them telling all the stories about how they met and all these things because it’s just very cool to have,” she said.
