Queen Camilla wore her 2005 civil-wedding dress again on 9 April 2025, the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary. She arrived at the Italian Parliament in the silk chiffon dress during the royal visit to Italy; designer Anne Valentine modified it for the occasion, with added embroidery by King’s Foundation artisan Beth Somerville.
Which dress did Queen Camilla wear?
It was the silk chiffon dress Camilla wore for her civil wedding to then-Prince Charles at Windsor Guildhall on 9 April 2005. The original garment was made under the Robinson Valentine label. The Standard’s report on the 2025 appearance says Valentine modified the dress, and King’s Foundation artisan Beth Somerville added embroidery.
That means the answer to “Was it her original wedding dress?” is yes—with an important qualification: it was the original civil-ceremony dress, updated for the anniversary rewear. Reports do not provide a complete technical inventory of the alterations.
How the civil-wedding dress differed from the blessing outfit
The couple also held a blessing ceremony at St George’s Chapel after their civil marriage. Camilla wore a separate outfit for that service: a chiffon dress with a floor-length, embroidered pale blue-and-gold coat. It was not the dress she wore again in Italy in 2025.

Keeping the two outfits distinct matters because both are associated with the same wedding day, but only the Windsor Guildhall civil-ceremony dress was the anniversary rewear.
When and where she wore it again
Camilla wore the modified dress on 9 April 2025, while she and King Charles were visiting Italy. She arrived in it at the Italian Parliament on their 20th wedding anniversary. The Standard’s report and ITV News’ anniversary coverage place the appearance within that visit.

Camilla had worn the dress before
The 2025 appearance was not the first reported rewear. The Standard says Camilla also wore the dress at the opening of the Welsh Parliament in June 2007, paired then with a different hat and shoes. The available reports establish those accessory differences, but do not give a full comparison of the dress’s condition or alterations across its later appearances.
