For other parts of Arcane—its game origins, inventive visuals, complicated relationships, or speculative worlds—there are several different directions to take. These picks are editorial matches, not an objective similarity ranking: each captures something different, and none is a substitute for the whole experience.
What makes a show feel like Arcane?
Arcane is based on League of Legends and was developed and produced by Riot Games with Fortiche Productions; Netflix credits Christian Linke and Alex Yee as its creators. The series earned four Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program, in 2022. (Netflix Media Center)
Those credentials do not create a single formula for a follow-up. You might be looking for stylized adult animation, political conflict, fraught family ties, action, a game-inspired world, or simply a compact story with a strong visual identity. The recommendations below are organized around those different attractions.
10 shows to watch if you love Arcane
1. Blue Eye Samurai — for adult animation, revenge, and political intrigue
This is the closest first pick if you want another serious animated drama built around a determined lead, dangerous alliances, and politically charged conflict. Set in Edo-period Japan, the TV-MA series follows Mizu’s pursuit of revenge. Netflix’s official announcement describes it as adult animation; its creators, Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, said they aimed to bring the personal story to life authentically and beautifully. 2. Castlevania — for violent action in a dark fantasy world
If the supernatural battles and grim stakes in Arcane appealed to you, try this four-season adaptation of the video-game franchise. Monster hunter Trevor Belmont takes on Dracula in a story Netflix Tudum describes as particularly bloody. Expect dark fantasy rather than Arcane’s industrial city politics. (Netflix Tudum)
3. Delicious in Dungeon — for an imaginative fantasy adventure
This series begins with a dungeon quest and a practical twist: the adventurers cook and eat the monsters they encounter. Its playful premise is a marked change from Arcane’s grim city drama, while its developing characters and increasingly involved plot offer more than a string of dungeon encounters. Choose it for fantasy world-building with a lighter touch. (Netflix Tudum)

4. DOTA: Dragon’s Blood — for another animated game adaptation
Magic, action, romance, and humor shape this adaptation of the Dota game world. Netflix Tudum notes that viewers do not need prior knowledge of the game to follow the series. It is a natural option if the game-to-screen leap interests you more than a close match in tone or setting. (Netflix Tudum)
5. Dragon Age: Absolution — for a heist, an ensemble, and hidden motives
The six-episode adventure begins with a mission and a ragtag crew, then opens into character drama, family dynamics, and concealed agendas. That makes it a useful pick if what you want to revisit is Arcane’s heist opening and the friction among people forced to work together. (Netflix Tudum)
6. The Dragon Prince — for fantasy politics with a more family-oriented tone
Political conflict and family tensions anchor this fantasy series, which also mixes humor with storylines that grow darker over time. Netflix Tudum lists it as TV-Y7, so it is a better fit if you are open to a more family-oriented show than if you are specifically seeking adult animation. (Netflix Tudum)
7. Love, Death & Robots — for visual experimentation
This anthology is the pick for viewers most drawn to Arcane’s distinctive visual storytelling. Its short episodes range across styles, themes, and source material, so the format favors variety over a single continuous character arc. Treat it as a sampler of animated ideas, not as one long narrative. (Netflix Tudum)
Rank #4
8. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off — for music, game-inspired fights, and a playful change of pace
This animated series shares music, powerful women, and video-game-inspired fights with Arcane, but its tone is much more playful. Pick it when you want some of those surface pleasures without looking for the same political tragedy or dramatic intensity. (Netflix Tudum)
9. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft — for another animated game-world adventure
Lara Croft’s story brings action and supernatural elements together with a protagonist confronting her past. It fits viewers who want another animated adventure rooted in a game world, rather than a repeat of Arcane’s focus on political and family conflict. (Netflix Tudum)

10. The Witcher — for live-action fantasy, monsters, and found family
If animation is not essential, this live-action fantasy offers monsters, magic, scheming nobles, bloodshed, and found-family ties. It shares some of Arcane’s interest in complicated relationships and power struggles, but moves those concerns into a fantasy setting. (Netflix Tudum)

Although it is not among the ten shows in Netflix Tudum’s recommendation list, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a strong option if you want adult-leaning animated action in a science-fiction setting. Netflix describes it as a standalone, 10-episode story in Night City, produced by CD PROJEKT RED and animated by Studio Trigger. Its self-contained story is a particular advantage if you want a bounded series rather than a longer multi-season commitment. (Netflix Media Center)
